2015 Research Fellowships and Postdoctoral Research Fellowships at the Allan Gray Centre for Leadership Ethics (AGCLE), Department of Philosophy, Rhodes University
Fellowships will initially be granted for one year, starting in January 2015 (but this date is negotiable), renewable for a second (and, possibly, subject to performance and funding, for a third year). The fellowships will be of interest to you if:
- In the case of potential postdoctoral fellows, you have completed a Ph.D. within the last five years and, in the case of postdoctoral fellows and research fellows, you have a demonstrable interest in helping to bridge the gap between ethical theory and ethical action. See the AGCLE purpose statement.
- You are keen on philosophically informed transformative engagements in the education sector (schools and the tertiary sector), public or private sectors, but your specialty is not necessarily in philosophy (we welcome applications in cognate disciplines).
- You either have a promising or established research record in areas that are commensurate with AGCLE aims.
How to apply: send the AGCLE two referee letters, a copy of your CV), a writing sample, transcripts, Ph.D. examiner reports (if possible and only in the case of postdoctoral fellows and a statement of no more than 1500 words expressing in what ways you envisage contributing to the life of the AGCLE by the 17th of October 2014. For further inquiries contact Julie Borland.
